How far in advance should we book you for our wedding photography?
I recommend getting in touch as soon as you have your date nailed down. Most of my couples book around 8-12 months out. I am currently capping my wedding bookings at 3 (sometimes 2) weddings a month, so as soon as the month is full, I’ll become unavailable for further bookings even when the date is still free. So please get in touch as soon as possible if you do want me as your photographer to avoid disappointment.
How many hours of coverage do we need?
This depends on your day and what you want to do, plus the logistics of your day. Let me know what matters most to you, and I'll be able to put together a quick customised timeline suggestion for your day to give you a better idea of have much coverage you need.
We’re super nostalgic – can you shoot a few rolls of 35mm film for us?
Absolutely! I love the nostalgic feeling of film photography. I’ve got a few different point-and-shoot film cameras after my parents and grand parents that produce the funnest old school images perfectly imperfect. Let’s do it!
Do you offer payment plans?
Yes, my booking system now offers 'Buy now pay later' through Klarna. I can also set up a custom payment plan for you if needed, just know that no images will be delivered until payment is received in full.
Where are you based, and do you travel?
I am always happy to roadtrip or jump on a plane for the right couple keen to have me at their celebration. For most of the year I’m based out of sunny Bunbury, Western Australia, shooting weddings up and down the coastline from Perth to Margaret River and beyond. During this time, I’m available Australia-wide. When the Australian winter creeps in I escape north to my hometown, Bodø in Norway. There, I enjoy the midnight sun, whilst capturing local Norwegian weddings. I’m usually in Norway for roughly 3 months each year, sometime between Mid May to early September. Exact travel dates change year to year depending on where I get bookings. Whilst in Norway, I’m available for bookings all over Europe.
How many images will we get?
As a go with the flow style shooter, I capture a lot of photos during a wedding, and I shoot a lot of in-between moments, details and guest candids along the way. The final amount of photos you’ll receive, therefore, depends a lot on your day. More moments, more people, more details, more happenings = more photos. My average full-day wedding gallery usually contains around 700-1000 photos. I do believe in quality over quantity, but at the same time, I am a highly nostalgic person and will always deliver a photo that might not be the prettiest shot if it contains a good, wholesome moment. Because who am I to judge what moments you’ll want to remember? In short, you can trust that you’ll get everything worth keeping from your day.
Do we get any sneak peeks, and when can we expect our full gallery?
I’m always so excited after a wedding day, and often end up on the computer after coming home – even after a 10-hour day of shooting. (Not healthy, I know, but I can’t help it) I will always deliver some sneak peeks the day after your wedding, so you have some beautiful photos to share the news with! And if I don’t have time to do a full sneak peek gallery the day after the wedding, you’ll get it a few days later. Then the rest of the gallery will be delivered as soon as it is ready. This can be anytime from 3-8 weeks after the wedding, depending on how many galleries sit before yours in my editing queue. After the wedding, I’ll give you an estimated delivery time and keep you in the loop as I go.
We feel super awkward in front of the camera, will that be a problem?
90% of all my couples tell me this, and it is never a problem. I, too, am awkward in front of the camera, so I get it. Just remember that I’m here to capture your moments, and you as you are. I will never expect you to perform for the camera, and just being yourself is always enough.
We’re not big on PDA, will that be a problem?
Not at all. We can steer clear of PDA during the shoot, or I can help you into more romantic moments if you dream of those despite struggling with PDA. Just let me know before we start what you are comfortable with and what type of couple photos you’d prefer.
What is a pre-wedding shoot, and should we do one?
A pre-wedding shoot is basically just a couple's shoot done sometime before the wedding. Super helpful to rid yourself of any photo-anxiety and camera shyness before the big day. 100% recommend by me and every couple I’ve ever done one with (especially the grooms). You’re not only getting a test-run in front of the camera, but you'll also get a better understanding of how I work + see actual proof of how damn good you can look in photos and suss out what type of photos you prefer of yourself before the wedding day. A pre-wedding shoot is also a nice bonding experience, and believe it or not, a fun time! And you get nice photos of yourself without the full wedding kit, which you can use for save the date cards, as wedding decor ++.
We’d love to include our pets in some photos, is that ok?
YES! Animals are always welcome to join in on the fun.
Do you work with a second shooter?
I shoot most of my weddings by myself and find that I rarely miss having a second shooter. However, when logistics make it hard for me to cover all parts alone, or when you are planning a big celebration with 100-200 guests, it can be good to have one. A second shooter can be added to any package if you want to have one. When you do, I’ll hire one of my trusted and experienced wedding photographer friends to tag along for the day for however many hours needed.
Do you do wedding videography?
I love shooting video, however I am not able to offer both video and photography for weddings as I am only one person, and know I cannot deliver a good result for both if done at the same time. With that said I could to do some video coverage during the portrait part of the day, or take some iPhone footage throughout the day if you want moving memories but don’t have the budget for a seperate videographer. I’m also toying with the idea of investing in a cam-coder video camera to bring along and let guest use during weddings for a bit of nostalgic footage.
